coolant?

hi any idea what coolant i should use disco 2 v8 red or pink in at moment?
seems to be lots of different ideas,dexcool which i thought would be right but seems bad reports on this,can i top up with other red stuff or is this big no ,dont know what use at all now big confusion any would be really grateful

Organic Acid Technology antifreeze OAT, the colour is not a standard it all depends on the manufacturer, my Halfords branded stuff is red and it's from Comma I believe.
There is a universal OAT on the market for topping-up. Better still replace the coolent and keep some back in reserve for topping up.... in the next 5 years .

It is very slightly critical for all-ali engines that a good quality OAT coolant is used, and as Pete (Discool) said above, you can get commercial OAT from various sources.

Motor factors tend to be cheaper than Halfrauds, we use genuine LR coolant, but we get trade discount which helps on the cost.

Don't be tempted to buy pre-mixed, it's a complete rip-off.

I only use Halfords as I have their trade card, but making an antifreeze purchase every 5 years won't break the bank even if I didn't have a card.

As for using LRs stuff my nearest dealer is a 33mile round trip so I don't.
