Have done my shopping for spring and decided on a new radiator and thermostat, decided to do both as means draining coolant once, but fans have not come on in the car once since ownership, temp hand bang in middle, never over heats or anything, been sizing up the job to do myself and could do with some more info before I feel comfortable to do the job myself

Draining the coolant system by the bottom radiator house I presume?

Plenty of info on the thermostat already on this forum and have done my research on this,

Changing the radiator seems straight forward, bumper, cross bar, plastic sides, fan wire plugs ( in general that is )

But refilling the system is the problem, has anyone done this before themselves, Fill the system back up from the header tank? the problem being numerous radiators and ensuring there is enough coolant in the system to pump around, Is gravity going to work the coolants course when filling? followed by a week of bleeding for air by a cold start

its not rocket science undo any bleed screws and fill ,run engine put heater on so you know when it gets warm air its has no air when you take it for a few miles drive and recheck level

Bleed from which ever low point you like, remove a hose is normally what I do. Replace radiator (easy) replace thermostat (difficult, check forum for guidance) put pipes back on and fill, run till warm then top up. Finally crack open bleed screw (middle back of engine bay in the pipes that go to the heater) and let air out. Repeat as needed
