Coolant Loss @ 1 Ltr a week

Hi All, I'm loosing 1Litre of coolant per 150 miles ( abour 1 weeks mileage). I have not replaced the original bottle or cap yet. Could a dickie bottle or cap loose that much coolant, and If I replace the coolant eack week for the moment am I safe... well as safe as can be in a FuXXXX Freebe 2.5V6 Petrol

yer could try the bottle and cap and pray.
is yer passenger footwell dry?
sounds more like HGF to me though.

Coolant is very clean... no mayo. Oil looks good as well.. but could have been changed as I only have it one month..private sale. Jasper

I take it that you had HGF ??? with clean coolant and oil ! Does HGF come in stages ? what signs should I look for ....its running very smooth... am I in stage of HGF ? Jasper

get a sniffer test done - if it detects combustion gasses in yer coolant, you've got a big bill coming.

How much does a sniffer test cost at the stealers or could I do it myself ?

you can do it yerself if you've got the equipment.....

a decent indy should charge you about £30 - £50.
