silicon hoses are very strong, but hate oils
As for longevity rubber hoses are proven ,as for silicon I havent seen any failures

Yer they look nice, and a cheaper then feebay as well which is always a plus.

Reason for a higher temp thermostat is mine seems to take ages to warm up.

I thought I heard about people upping the thermostat to speed up the time it take to warm the engine

Putting in an 88 deg. instead of an 82 deg thermostat wont make it warm up any quicker, it just wont open until its 6 deg hotter. I changed mine in the hope of getting hotter air in the winter which it does.

the temp gauge never gets even half way :( even in the summer, the only time i managed to get it high was when the rad was covered and fan removed as a test run to make sure every thing was ok
dont suppose you have a part number for the 88 deg stat?

I've got a set of those silicon hoses on mine with the cooler hoses to, I thought them a good investment, they fitted perfectly and look great.
