Sorry you had a 2nd hgf Tess, do you know what ype of gasket they fitted for the first repair? Did they renew the thermostat or replace with Pressure release Stat at the same time as the original repair?

the OAT stuff only came in around 2001.

Earlier models of the K-series will have the green or blue standard coolant.

The OAT models will have a yellow plastic collar around the coolant bottle to warn you.

TBH it doesnt really matter what type you use, so long as it has some sort of anti-corrosion additive for mixed metal engines and that you dont mix coolant types. Plus use the same dilution factor each time you top up.

They tried the OAT ploy with the screen wash as well..... its overkill! supposed to reduce deterioration of the plastic components and rubber tubing of the system

There is a coolant that changes colour when exhaust gases mix with the coolant, cant remember the proprietry name???
