Go all def need to change my old tired 2.5 td in my defender 110 I'm considering a 200tdi or 300tdi just wanted opinions really on the best one it is going to be going off road and also fair bit of town driving. reasons for why to choose appreciated thanks

That's a definate positive money is an issue I have never drove a 200tdi so don't quite know what to expect to be honest

Basically going up longer hills where you would be down to 3rd you will do it in 4th happily.

More confidence to overtake and bot screaming quite so loudly ( still noisy but thats a landy).

Far more comfy cruising.

I bought an old mot failure for a few hundred quid, conversion kit and clutch comes to about £250.

If you have the time, strip the disco down. Offer parts online. Gearbox ( separate to transfer) and transfer will make money. As will interior, wheels, etc. theres a few threads that explain it well. Langers did a great one

Thank you for that advice I will definatley do that with breaking I'm currently looking for a cheap disco trying to hold out for the lowest mileage engine I can get at best money I have someone who wants to buy my current engine for his series 3 so hoping to get some money back for that and will take a look at the langers thanks
