Considering a used Disco II - what to wactch for?

Hello,

I am sneaking over here from the Gaylander forum, as I have found a Disco II with 85000 miles on it. Body is in pretty good shape.:D

Before I get into something I cant get out of - like the Freelander - is the Disco a time bomb, too?:eek: I understand that any car has its quirks, but I dont want to blow up the damn head gasket on this one.

Dont tell Dearot or The Mad Hatter I was here....:cool:
 
Disco's bomb proof compared to a fre!! fre!! free!! freela!! Gaylander and If owt goes wrong they're simple and cheap to fix. rot in the rearfloor and rear wheel arches are the biggest problem with em.

Come over to the darkside. you know you want to.

Go for it, I had a Freelander before the Disco II TD5 I have now, the Disco is so much better in every way and no K series engine;)
 
I've owned a Disco TD5 for 109,000 miles over 5 years. It's been excellent. Tyres, servicing, brakes, help from this forum etc... it's a fantastic ownership experience
 
Love mine to bits, check out honestjohn.com but be prepared bad points far out way good shows all recalls etc compare it to the fre....lan thing you had.

At end of day never put me off

I've just tried going to honestjohn.com - and it's a Cadillac site in the US! Is that right?
