Hiya chaps,
Successfully fitted some Land Rover Fog lamps on the weekend,
when I had the bumper off to fit my cabling I found a couple of plugs on either side of the bumper.
The left drivers side plug had a yellow and green cable, the right hand side plug was black and purple. (See pics)
Any idea what these were originally intended for at all?
They arent long enough to have been fog lamp wiring,....driving lights perhaps?

never seen a mk 1 freelander with wippers on and washers only opperate with water but they may have a heater element in but doubt it more likely to be fog lights

without digging deep into the archives could it be the bumper mounted pod lighting option? Ive not long fitted the bumper mounted fog lights into the lower bumper area and noticed these. I assumed headlight washer but certainly dont recall any mk1 having it, unless the loom was fitted with the mk2 facelift in mind prior to launch. I have a td4 2003, last one before facelift came out late 2003

mine is also a late 2003 pre-facelift so the loom may be as you suggest..I'll check put Rave wiring diagram to see if it unearths anything!

Driving lights and fog lights fitted as non-standard required looming into the CCU didnt they?

I dont think the connectors are there as standard.

The connector on the n/s/f i'd go with FBH connectors.

The connector on the otherside im struggling to guess at tbh, External Temp sensor or something mebe...?

you may be correct as I have the ceramic heater and no fuel burner!

the fog light kit was genuine Landrover and required me to plug into socket C951 on back of fuse board under drivers side dash :)
Nice kit to be honest and a steal at £41 off Ebay!

I remember having to fit a load of those Foglamp / Driving lamp kits . Quite good quality for LR accessories tbh, especially compared to those FL1 foam front A bars :)

yep can't fault the kit-very high quality and it even contained small black cable ties!!

The one on the drivers side is for the outside air temp sensor for the FBH, those on the passenger side are in the correct location for the FBH but I see it is not present so I think Vissie is right - FBH connections.
