I have a 2000 D2 that is on coils at the rear and when I got it a few months back the battery was going flat and the compressor was constantly ticking away under the car - so I got the ECU reprogrammed to coils and the battery was replaced....all good

A couple of days ago I noticed that I could hear the ticking again (and fearing a flat battery) from the compressor so I disconnected the plugs from the side of it which stopped the ticking. Now though I get the beeps over 20Mph but no error lights on the dash.

I'm not sure what is going on but I don't want to leave the compressor plugged in but I confused as to why it has started clicking again.....any ideas?

Stupid question:

Have you by any chance reconnected the programmer and saved the settings stating it now has air rather than coils?
Can you check to see what the settings state?

Cheers

tutting is a good way of describing how it sounds !!

Neilly - I did not do the re-programming and I do not have the ability to check....the funny thing is that I do not get any lights on the dash as errors so it seem that it knows I'm on coils.....but I do get the beeping (above 20mph) when the compressor is disconnected and the "tutting" when it's connected
