Hi all,
Hope i am in the right forum and hope one of you might have an idear as to what the problem is ...
I replaced bags and compressor with brand new parts back in August of this year, everything working fine untill yesterday.
I noticed she didnt rise when started and when the manual button was pressed she didnt move, also when I turned off the engine there was a clicking noise coming from the compressor box, which I have never heard before even when the last compressor went.
I checked all the usuals as much as i could, but still no joy, would a compressor go this quickly? dont want to disconnect the compressor as I havent got a new one to replace it with yet.
My garage is closed untill the new year, so I am hoping one of you can give me some advice.
Thanks in advance...

Can you hear the compressor running? the clicking maybe the solenoid valves trying to level the vehicle with the last little bit of air left in tank.

A new compressor should last years, did you replace the filter, they can become clogged and restrict air, or worse still, have been known to perish and let dirt into compressor and wear out piston seal and liner in a very short time.

I am new to the TD5 and didnt know (stupidly) that there was a filter or that it needed to be changed, and info I had read had not mentioned it either.
What should I do know, have I damaged the compressor or is there still hope....?
I cant here the compressor running today..just the clicking...

If compressor not running the possibilities is anyones guess, have you unplug the compressor and tried to power it up from another 12v supply, or put multi meter on the terminals at the compressor when when engine is running to see if power getting that far.

Thanks for the advice everything is shut down here for christmas and i wouldnt have those resorces at hand, will have to wait untill later in week to try and sort problem.

Thanks again and Happy new year...

All you need is a couple of cables to run directly from battery to compressor terminal. just be very careful you dont short against anything else, the compressor is fairly robust as far as electrical goes so you will not harm it by doing this. if it starts up then you maybe able to let it run for a while to pump car up, then pull fuse from EAS to stop it deflating till you get ti looked at.

Sorry just one more thought, the weather here as been extreamly cold -5 to -11 could the compressor be frozen? is that possible apparently it is possible on trucks, just took off the filter and the sponges inside were frozen.

I haven't a clue about that, as I have never been in such conditions, a cold day here is +14 C. hopefully someone can answer it for you.

At least you know where the filter is now, and it needs regular service and also replacing.
