noticed that is alot of price differences between ATF oil. Is it worth buying an expensive one? Any body got a recomendation?

Whare abouts is the oil filter on a 200tdi, i've managed to locate the dipstick, is it on the same side or is it on the left as your looking at the front of the landy from the outside?

It's on the other side from dipstick, under the lift pump....

Going to have a crack at servicing my 1998, 300Tdi 110 county next week, is there anything I need apart from the obvious sockets, spanners and filter taker offerer, don't want to get half way through and find that I'm short of something out of the ordinary:doh::doh:. Thanks in advance and please excuse my ignorance, this is the first time, I'll have attempted it:confused::confused:

Short sleeve T shirt cos when you take the drain plug out/oil filter off oil will likely run down your arm (take oil filler cap off first)... new washer for drain plug. Dont get oil on ya drive.... dont over tighten oil filter or sump plug. A case of beer out of the money you have saved. I did my first service last summer and worried over nothing. Relax and have fun

Same, i did mine for the first time over the summer too, as long as you know what oils go where you'll be fine. Still it took me the best part of the afternoon, but next time im sure it'll be much quicker. :)
