Hi all!
Bought 5L of this AQF mineral oil, which is a type of ATF oil from comma.

I've been using Morris atf oil last 2 or 3 services for the g/box as synchro's are a bit worn and atf seems to get in and around them a bit better being a bit thinner.

I change my g/box and trans every 8k ish, and the AQF was £7 cheaper than the usual atf, just wondered if anyone's used it in an r380 at all, or do people have an opinion on it at all? Thanks in advance

Thanks for the reply bud! When I got home I looked it up and apparently its for the older boxs, like the Borg warner...you end up reading so many conflicting things online its hard to decipher exactly what's going on!

Maybe I shouldn't be so cheap and just stick with the atf I usually use!! :)

If it is for the Borg Warner, it will be fine. There were plenty of those around at the same time as your motor was built.

Hi there on the Ashcroft website they recommend a certain type of atf dextron for the R380 gearbox as opposed to Land Rover mtf 94

Cheers

Hi bud, yeah I know that, been using atf for past 3 oil changes....the aqf doesn't have a dexron rating (3 I think is recommended) but my box is well worn and any new oil is going to be better than not , id be a bit more concerned if id just had it reconed
