hope someone can help with this. after changing plugs leads and dizzy cap/arm. i noticed the lead from dizy to coil was slightly burnt at the coil end. when the engine is ticking over i can hear a ticking from the coil and the revs drops slightly.

have a look in the dark. You should be able to see the spark jumping to earth. Is bit coming from the coil or lead? It sounds like the lead is knackered anyway so you could stick a new one on and then have another look/listen.

Thanks for you help guys. it does jump to earth and its visable in dark. i have already replaced leads and have just won a new coil on ebay. so hopfully this will resovle my problem. just got sort out my cold start problem now can some times take 10 min of turning over to get her running any ideas 3.9 v8

How long has it been playing up? If you aint getting a good spark to yer plugs, you aint gonna ignite the fuel.

its been playing up since first had it. slightley better now iv got new plugs and leads. also its runs a lot better now and uses less fuel. but my neighbours our getting ****ed off with me keep turning the engine over. when the engine is hot it starts fine.
