Usually less mpg for gas or do you mean equivalent miles taking into account cost?

Doo states he can get 205mi for 13gal of gas so that's roughly the equivalent to 24 mpg.

320mi from 81litres/18 gallon petrol tank so thats around 17mpg

But as you point out gas does tend to get less MPG.

And you lose some power

So i dunno..

Is it worth it?

probably not.

Yep probably not
Especially when you factor in an awful lot of lost boot space and a scabby spare tyre sitting on the carpet

Not sure I'm getting 24mpg on gas! Although I have returned exactly 205 miles on a number of occasions. But petrol differs, some days I get more mpg (up to 360miles per tank of extreme careful driving, but I think the flavour of the petrol helps...)

Maybe I'm getting more litres of gas in the tank than I think, although it is a 72 litre tank and I do run full to empty (until it runs out and beeps).

The petrol tank is 18gal so around 81 litres.

360 from 18gal is around 20mpg for petrol
Not too bad ;)

205miles form 15gallons which is around 72 litres, Mpg is 12.9 Roughly..

Factoring in the cost difference, is it really worth it?

Anyway, It's very rare I get 360 miles to a tank, I think I managed that about 4 times in two years :D

But LPG, I always manage 205 miles MAX on a long run. Short trips give a lot less.

But I am sure the empty LPG tank takes average about 46 quid to fill at 72p per litre.

Inverness.

Nearest LPG station is Tore, about 8 miles from me. Captive audience. Next one is 21 miles away at Skiach. The one in Nairn (16 miles east) has just closed down so it's getting desperate.

Petrol averages about 1:35 per litre so LPG is kinda worth my while because I never paid for the system or install, it came with the car.

Oh, the station around here gets quite some use.. ;)

petrol around me is 1.22 per litre.

I remember the days you could fill a Mini to the brim for £1.25. Six gallons at five bob (25p) a gallon and even then we thought we were being ripped off. Today we really are being ripped off.

You must be younger than me, I seem to remember filling the tank on my van and getting change from £1:rolleyes:

oowwww 105 octane, I could do with some off that full fat leaded 105 for my old Cortina that would make it run better:)

Get yourself some 110 octane Avgas but it maybe slightly expensive. :D

I have been trying to get some race fuel from the touring car team my son works for but nothing yet, there was a garage opposite a Ferrari garage near me that did higher octane fuel but it was over £3 a litre:(
I did look at Avgas when I was rallying the car years ago.
