Hi all.

I have a very simple question which may make me appear rather stupid but I need to know what the co2 emissions are on my Discovery TD2. I've looked on my V5 and there are 5 different numbers but none of them give the amount I was expecting which was around 270 g/km. It say the following - can anyone please tell me what my co2 emissions actually are

V1 - CO (g/km or g/kWh) - 0.631
V2 - HC (g/km or g/kWh) - 0.072
V3 - NOx (g/km or g/kWh) - 1.308
V4 - HC+NOx (g/km) - 1.380
V5 - particulates (g/km or g/kWh) - 0.080

Many thanks.

Don't think the CO2 is listed on vehicles registered before a certain date.

Also, I don't think it's measured as part of the MOT test, only CO and HC are measured, as these are the gases the ECS is meant to reduce.

CO2 is not actually a pollutant, since it ocurs naturally in air, and nor is it poisonous, whereas the other two are.

As this is a diesel thread none of the above apply only a smoke test is carried out :)

CO2 is a greenhouse gas and dino diesel and petrol when burned as fuel, release it to the atmosphere. This release is from a different age on earth hence the overall CO2 in the atmosphere increases-When burning bio fuel, you only release the CO2 back to the air, that the plant consumed making the oil seed-The net gain is zero. The real emissions on biofuel is about 20% compared to dino on an MOT test-the tester often thinks his equipment is bust.
The government are now taxing new vehicles relative to their CO2 emissions
