Clutch problem.

Hey all,

I've recently had a new HD clutch fitted to my defender 90 300tdi 1994

The past few days my biting point has been getting lower to the floor any ideas as to what could be causing this? Also when i press the clutch to the floor and let my foot off the clutch returns back but tends to get stuck a little on the way up but pops back up on its on without my having to pull it.

I would suggest either faulty master or slave cylinder or it could be that it has air in the system

Clutch fluid looks a dirty brown colour with bits of black in it too.

I'm planning on bleeding tomorrow if no joy would you suggest changing both slave+master?

black comes from the seals change both you will need to soon even if bleeding helps in the short term

Local shop wants £60 for both master and slave is this a good price or can i get cheaper elsewhere?

If they are Girling it's OK ... If not they're a bit expensive!

If its an HD clutch it may well be a Britpart. Which means it may be failing again.

did they fit HD clutch arm as well ? if not may be problem

Fitted new master+ slave and all is ok fingers crossed it stays that way.
