Is there a difference between early and late series 3 clutch pipe work?
Do they all have a flexi pipe or are some solid?
Ive got a flexi pipe but it doesnt screw into the slave cylinder.

Thanks in advance

Thanks for your reply!
Ah that makes sense, however from looking at pics of that part, it seems a lot longer than i need (36mm?), as the flexi nearly reaches the slave anyway.

Are you sure you have the right top solid pipe (from m/cylinder 577687)? The flexi should be miles away from the slave.

I think the defender solid pipe is much longer so this could cause a problem.

No im not sure! I think the landy is a jumble of bits so i dont know whats supposed to be fitted or not. When i got it, it had a solid pipe from master to slave but i didnt think this was right.
I picked up the solid pipe (master to flexi) from another scrap vehicle. It goes from the master to the welded bracket near where the brake pipe clamp is.

The long solid pipe is probably nrc4222 which connects m/cylinder to slave so it doesn't have a flexi pipe. This is a defender part (and late series 3's?).
So I guess yours is late series 3 or someone retro fitted it.
Whether its right or not?? Dunno, if it works why change it.

Have now sussed it. Ive actually got a 2a gearbox!! Now got a different flexi so just need to sort the top solid pipe to fit.
Thanks all.
