Don’t know if this is serious or if its normal

It wasn’t until someone in the office had trouble with their car and the clutch last week that I began to think.

Some times when I release the clutch pedal after changing gear this petal seems to rise OK and then stick for a second or two about a CM from its fully raised position. It appears to stick and them come to the raised position at normal speed

regards

Andrew

Hi, I have heard of this happening quite a lot, if its a TD4 it usually means clutch master cylinder needs replacing ( before it lets you down totally),if its the older diesel car, clutch operating lever shaft can start to seize where it goes into bell housing, try lubricating with wd40 or oil to free it off. Rgds.:)

My wifes TD4 had the mechanism which is attached to the clutch pedal replaced under warranty earlier this year, it took 1 hour to change.

The pedal would stick down completely and then release on its own.

Thanks for you help.

I called in the Local Dealer ship after trying to oil the bit without luck, they confirmed it would be the sealed cylinder that needs replacing.

Luckily I bought my car used and it has a Network Q Warranty for the year,

No guesses where its going …….J
