Hey!
Please can someone help me? My 300tdi broke down yesterday! Driving along fine then suddenly clutch stays on the floor, and dosn't return up. 100 meters down the road clutch is up, but i cant press it down at all. Feels completely solid. I can still move the gear stick and all the gears seem to be there.
Anyone had or heard of anything like this before?
Thanks
Dan

It's a common fault. your clutch fork is goosed.

My clutch fork broke a few years ago and it was a 'gearbox out' job which amounted to most of the labour charge.

If so, it might be worth getting your synchro mesh changed at the same time (the bit that causes gear changes between 1st & 2nd to sound crunchy), otherwise you will have to pay to have your gearbox taken off again at a later date if you get problems, which will be expensive.

Ask me how I know:eek:
