can anyone tell tell me if this is upgrade is worth while,

LAND ROVER DEFENDER 90 110 130 UPGRADE CLUTCH PEDAL ASSEMBLY - SKB500280 | eBay

after driving in town or off road with alot of clutch use my knee is causing me issues...my truck is a 1990 defender/90 with disco conv 200tdi with lt77 box, i assume the pedal is from the origional 2.5 td it once was. is it a straight forward fit etc... any help or advice would be very much appreciated.. its either that or i will have to consider selling and buying a later truck. selling is a last resort really as the truck is in really great shape with full cage and all other extras that i will have to buy again. thanks.

Ooh, never thought of that .. my knee has issues with the clutch and a lighter clutch would help a lot!

Very interesting, gonna try and find details of how the 'helper' spring arrangement fits and whether it can be fettled onto mine!

Looks like EDP7510L from paddocks is the spring .. and I'd guess the mounting might be fabricated .. :)

Gonna see what I can find in the 'stuff' box .. this looks too good a potential mod for me to pass it by.

sounds good, i did think about a servo upgrade of some sort but its pretty tight around that area and "what servo to use" i pretty much have to do something as it puts me off using the truck at the mo. just thought someone may have fitted something to good effect and could pass there findings on.

Ease post a thread in your findings as I would be VERY interested for the same reasons as you!

I have had the same problem with my 2001 TD5 clutch which was heavy, this was causing issues with my ankle. It is now much lighter to use My solution was the upgrade issued by Land Rover called spring assist all parts fitted straight on as you would expect no need for a new pedal box the mod by LR was just these parts:-
CLP3180 (kit bearing),
x2 DCP3212L(bushes),
EDP7510L (torsion spring)
Total cost from main stealer £35.00 I think.
The job is straightforward but a little tricky to fit the springs. My best advice if fitting this kit speak to a friendly LR technician from where you get the parts as it is not that easy to explain the technique required to fit the spring.

I fitted the new assembly last year to my 300TDi and it has certainly made it a bit lighter in operation.

Mine didn't need replacing but I was carrying out a lot of other work (galvanised bulkhead etc) and to tidy it up I thought it was easier to buy the new pedal assembly rather than stripping & painting my existing one.
Bought mine from Ribble Valley and even as a genuine part it was only £35 for the whole thing, you only saved a few £ buy buying the spring as a separate component so there was no contest.

well i have just ordered one, hopefully it cures the problem to a degree. will post how well it works once fitted.

Poofters the lot of you:D
Time to go and buy your dream car, you know the suzuki jimny!

yes!! i suppose you are correct, as the suzuki is almost a motability scooter in its own right?? :):)

To be fair I used to go trialing and there was an old guy with a jimny on slightly aggressive tyres and he always beat all the land rovers hands down
