clutch pedal question

upon inspecting my clutch pedal for the source of a rather annoying squeak, i have found a bit of threaded pipe that is not connected to anything and just hanging on the clutch lever. what is it and where should it go?

Threaded pipe... ?!? No idea unless it's meant to be connected to the master cylinder!

annoying squeak howere caused by dry pivot bearing. Remove cover plate on the pedal box and get some lithium grease ine there from a spray can but mind the seals on the master cylinder. Make sure the cover plate seals properly if you plan any wading and don't want wet feet.

i also thought about master cylinder but the clutch is functioning as normal and doesn`t seem any stiffer or taking up any higher... weird thing indeed.

Stupid suggestion... you are sure it's not the pedal return spring? Maybe the hook end broke off making it look like threaded pipe. If it is fix it quick otherwise the thrust bearing will be in permanent contact with the pressure plate.

Good call Sir! Excatly what it was, in the dingy light of the footwell it look just like a peice of pipe because of the peice of plastic sleeving around the spring. All fixed up now and snapping back like a bitter mother in law.
