clutch pedal movement

I have a "R" reg 300 tdi , yesterday all running fine.
Today on a trip to tesco`s the clutch pedal needs to on the floor to change gear , on the way back , no chanch , the pedal will not disengage the clutch the change gear , managed to get second gear and limped home.
any ideas guys.

We use Asda.

master/slave cylinder failure, or even the spin plate has come apart. Mine blew apart was simular to what you have described
