Well it's done and sorted, found the problem, I didn't put the little plastic clip in that holds the bearing to the fork, didn't even know it needed one haha
 
clip isnt vital ,if bearing went in a week it was a poor bearing or fitting not lack of clip

Could have been a bit of both, it was the first landy clutch I had done and the last clutch I did of any kind prior to that was about 5 years previous.

I thought you had to have the clips so that the release bearing stayed with the fork

I'm with you here, once that clip was in it all made sense, without it being pulled away it can stay spinning on the fingers, pretty sure that's why mine over heated. My bite point is a bit high now though but I believe that can be adjusted
