hello . i did put this thread in the general forum and appologize in advance for putting it back here but I really am looking for some answers;

I am planning to change my clutch on my TD5 Defender. I am looking for something heavy duty as I drive 100 % in the bush. I was looking into the option of the Brit Part heavy duty clutch which is a possibility as long as the original flywheel is changed for a solid flywheel. Brit Part says that the noise in the gear box might increase (which is a serious joke as the Defender is one of the noisiset vehicle I have owned) and the gear stick will woobble. Does anybody has experience on this and would like to share it. What are your recommendations as far as clutch is concerned. Any serious suggestion or recommendation is welcome.
Thank you in advance and all the best from Suriname.

Dont fit a solid flywheel to a TD5 is the advice i was given from multiple sources.

There is a reason Land rover fitted a dual mass flywheel. Also the only solid flywheel you can get is a britpart one :eek:
