Is this an online offer only? or will i be able to pick one up from our local screwfix? just curious before i spend my lunchbreak walking all the way there and back!

as i understand it......its an online only offer....but i went into my store yesterday and they ordered it for me(collect from store monday)but since then someone in here(twinny i think)earlier said they had an email saying 'sold out'

Took the money off me Saturday and on its way according to the auto response emails.

I sign into screwfix online, checked buying history, then tracking item, that came up with a fedex tracking no, linked to fedex site, tracked item; it left the screwfix depot yesterday, and is now at my local fedex depot.

we'll see.

In the handbook for my Defender CSW 110 Td5 LHD (2005) it says, I think (can't check just now) that if the steering is kept on full lock for more than 50 seconds, damage will result.

Seems like an important warning.

If you put your steering on full lock and fit a disclock it makes it VERY difficult (not impossible) to nick your landy even with a transporter. Getting a disclock off is not a quick job neither and invloves making lots of noise.

dont have to be at full, full lock as long as the steering not straight and the steering lock on the ignition is engaged they have to brake that to even get it onto a trailer.

there is a god!!!!!!! picked mine up on way home from work today from screwfix as promised....indeed,shouldnt be sat here as i should be out there fitting it

i've had mine about a month now and the worst thing is remembering to put it on .
fine if you know you are in for the night wack it on when you get home , but sometimes i think i might have to pop out again then dont get around to it and forget to fit it (like last night :D:rolleyes:)

Managed to order a half-price ClutchClaw from Screwfix on Saturday, and it arrived today, although they look to be out of stock again. So far I am very impressed with it, and it took less than half-an-hour to set it up to fit my 110. I have always used a big Disklok which takes only seconds to put on. The ClutchClaw is a tiny bit fiddlier as you have to get out of the vehicle to put it on, but I am talking about just a few seconds. I feel quite good that my 110 now has two really good security devices fitted (and something else!). OK, the thieving b**tards can still steal it, but they now need to overcome a couple of major hurdles. I live in a residential area, so perhaps they might just decide that mine isn't worth the extra effort. Apologies if they nick yours instead if you haven't taken all the extra precautions!!!

it is all about making it not worth the bother.. so I lock mine with the fob and rely on the standard landy alarm making a 10 year old muddy motor being not worth the bother.. my carina II I don't even bother locking as it aint worth the bother of hot wiring it...
