clunking coming from underneath when wet?

when i go through water or when it is raining etc there is a clunking underneath my disco, i have replaced the anti-rollbar bushes with poly bushes thinking it was them that had worn but it still persists, it seems to clunk more when i brake at low speed, i am staring to think that it may be the radius arm bushes?

I have had a clunk from underneath (wet or dry) for the past few weeks. I replaced all wheel bearings, shock absorbers, poly bushes and radius arm bushes, rear 'A' frame ball joint, anti-roll bar bushes and ball joints (front and rear) and rear prop shaft CJ and rubber doughnut last September. I have checked everything i can think of, including handbrake, but the clunk persists. Driving me mad, and the caravan season is upon us. What to check next?? If anyone can offer any advice, I would be grateful

Mine was clunking, changed anti roll bar bushes and found that the steering damper had worn so replaceds that as well and seems to have cured the problem.

Steering damper, track rod ends and steering box also replaced last year, clunk seems to come from middle of car, or behind drivers seat.

I currently have a knock also coming from behind the drivers seat. In my case it is the lower link bushes that have given up the ghost. They are sited somewhere close to the backend of the drivers seat and are attached to the chassis. They are like big rubber bungs each secured to the chassis with 3 bolts. It drove me crazy for ages, but then I spotted movement in the lower link itself

my problem only happens when its wet! when its dry everything is as solid as a rock?

maybe ya cat dosnt like the rain and is knocking to get in!

had a similar thing on my old disco wet or dry,but never when covered in mud, turnt out to be the bottom swivel pin bearing add collapsed

I dont have a cat i removed it in favour of a straight through downpipe! lots more power

could it be anything to do with low brake pads shifting it the calipers when there wet? know someone who had a tapping on the pads when he'd been through water-they were low

the pads have lots of life in them and not low but, it does make sense maybe the pads are not seated properly and slip when wet, i'll check that, Thanks excellent idea.
