As a recently coverted disco owner and the proud owner of a disco 1 2.5 tdi 200 i wonder if anyone can tell me what the clunk is on taking up drive when letting the clutch in. Is it normal ish , need imediate attention or is it a general slackness of the drive chain seeing it has 126 k on the clock. The disco drives great plenty of go still and a pretty easy gear change even for my better half who is learning to drive in it lol and is trying to claim it for herself and has gone as far as washing mud off it !

If it does it in all gears and when blipping the accellerator then worn Propshaft UJ's or rear Aframe ball joints are the likeliest suspects. If it int too bad I wouldn't worry about it too much just stick it on ya list of things to do.

Hi there and welcome to the fold !!

If you're not used to driving Landys it takes a bit of time to acclimatise to all the various sources of slop in the drivetrain, but if this noise is only on driving off in first, I would suggest it's a worn A-frame balljoint.

The parts themselves are cheap but it can be a real bûgger of a job to get the old one out due to rust.
