Clicking from engine

Hi there quick question when I put my N reg disco on to pre heat there is a clicking sound under the bonnet even when the light has gone out it starts ok after a couple of pre heats but I'm not sure if it should be making that noise.

Open the bonnet, locate where the clicking is coming from then and let us know, we then can tell you, if whatever should be making that noise.

Its the fuel pump priming the system. Perfectly normal

Oh ok should it keep going up till the engine is started or go off after a set time as if I leave it on with out starting it does not stop. Cheers
