Hi all ,
i have a 1991 rr 3.9 v8 auto , and also a 1993 discovery 200 tdi manuel ,

i want to to swap engine and gearboxes and convert the rr too 200 tdi ,

which is the easiest way to do this , just swap engines and g box , or can i lift the shell of the chassis with engine still in place and just swap the body's/shells over?

any help much appreciated

you can do either, ive done both and its possible to lift body with doors open with long tines on fork lift or with spreader bars through the same if lifting with ropes which is easier is dependant on your lifting gear body has 10 mounting bolts 91/16 with holes in floor under carpet to rech them ,but most bits between vehicles are interchangable so swapping lumps is straight forward

thanks for reply , I have engine crane , and loader tractor with fork lift tines ,
so shouldn't be a problem ,

but if i just change the engine and box , will it come out together ( engine still attached to G box) and do i have to change fuel tank/lines etc and axles ,

cheers

youll need to remove pump from tank and mod pipe fittings ,all configurations would fit lt230 share same rear prop but different front but you have bothchassis and axles are the same fitment and only differ in brakes etc which are interchangable anyhow ,i would move engine seperate even though with all cross members mounts removed anything can be done
