Can anyone recommend a cheap place for insurance for a classic. Got a few good quotes but when I've tried to buy they then claim thats the price if you've a thatcham approved imobiliser fitted, which mine hasn't. They then try and sting me for a few hundred more. Best I've got so far without the added security is £300!! I'm an old git, full no claims and no convictions. Personal experiences gratefully received.

Peter Best Ins Services ........ I had a '72 MGB Roadster on "Classic" ins with them 5000 miles a year

Total cost ...................£58.00 FOR THE YEAR!!!!! & that included FULL RAC Cover breakdown, relay, home start ect

Now if yer go to the RAC web portal that ALONE is £109!!!!! .... so quite HOW they worked the Ins out was well beyond my limited mental abilities!!!

Heres a Linky

Private & Classic Car Insurance Quote, 4X4, Saab, 4WD, and Morgan Insurance

Regards

Keith

:cool:Try Lancaster Insurance I found them through https://www.confused.com/ I've got both my classic and my p38 insured with them very reasonable and the classic is on a classic policy.;)

Out of pure Idle interest I just rang Peter Best Ins .. & was quoted the following

1995 RR P38 4.6 HSE, 3000Miles annually FULLY COMPREHENSIVE+ Full RAC breakdown Home Start & Recovery

Total ................. £163.02, 1 month "In Advance" of £13.58 + D/Debit of £13.58 for 11 months

Dic Dat Dic Dat... DOOOOOOOO Fer ME!!!!!!!..........

Oh! the above assumes you are a member of a "Land Rover" club ( I am the L & C's)...

Thanks for those pointers. I found Go-compare to be worse than useless. Got some good quotes but each time I tried following it up the insurance company moved the goal posts and tried charging more, seems little point in quoting figures that aren't achievable.

Performance direct insured me for £188 for my 92 RRC 3.9 on LPG with all my offroad modifications.
:)
Adrian flux wanted £370 then when I told them about P/D quote, they dropped it to £190.

I still used P/D as they never tried yo take the **** :)

dont touch the "normal" insurers, they wont like a v8.Tried adrian flux?they gave me a discount for being on here
