The air compressor failed and I replaced it but the air suspension remained deflated. I considered the excellent looking advice that I found on carelect.demon.co.uk but in the end decided against the short term workaround of removing the ECU and shorting out to each corner in turn so I settled for the £300 (ish) EAS Kicker Classic Range Rover Kit with EKU01 Upgrade. This plugs into the socket under the drivers seat (pre-dates OBDii). Four days for it to come from Cyprus via Athens, Croatia, Leipzig and East Midlands. 4 minutes to read and clear the fault! Brilliant.
I now have a very useful but extremely specific tool that will help anyone with a classic with air suspension ecu issues (and possibly early Disco drivers). Located near Ashbourne Derbyshire. Let me know if you want to try it. Donations to charity if it works. (Hope that doesn’t break forum rules).

What a delightful thought. Avoiding the obvious distinction that a Series iii sits on leaf springs, it’s good to be recognised as Land-Rover owners with style. It’s fair to say that Land Rover got lots of things wrong with the Classic, but the biggest error was clearly replacing it with the P38. Depending on which advert you read this box may similarly help with early P38 EAS woes.

Just different socks then?
The classic are a beautiful car, the biggest error was the lack of protection and the steel grade on the bodywork. The classic was a ground breaking car for land-rover and the '38 was a more refined progression.
;)

The steel was awful but that was common across BL. By protection are you talking about impact protection or anti-rust? I was warned not to buy a P38 because they have lots of unreliable electronics so I bought a late classic where they beta tested all that unreliable electronics but hey, if we wanted reliability we wouldn’t have bought a LR product.

Rust prevention yes,
Ours is pretty reliable, we go camping in it, been to Italy in it, England and back with it and every day use. It has had a privilaged life as the guy before me was a Landy nut.
It's pretty reliable but you've got be in love with land-rovers gizmos. Not so much the new stuff.....

Great offer.

The RRC system was an adaption of the dunlop system off old route master busses

A far more intelligently designed system than what was fitted to the P38.
