Am about to buy a used Range Rover in Latvia, but am very aware of their reliability issues and repair/maintenance costs, so am considering the following options: a 2003 Vogue Diesel (found one for 14000 Euros with 120k on clock), or previous model 2.5 diesel (ca.1998 with 200+ on clock) for around 6000 Euros and using the leftover funds as a contingeny for the inevitable repair bills. Which makes the most sense? Is there a significant difference in reliability between the mk2 and mk3? Or is the mk3 just as likely to require a similar contingency fund? Any advice much appreciated. By the way I am not completely new to these beasts, as a spotty youth I had original mk1 2-door classic with diesel conversion, but the conversion was a Fred Carno special and left insufficient room for standard radiator; the smaller radiator wasn't upto the job and you can probably guess the rest!
