Chequer Plated Delight!

Hi All,

I know everyone on lz are huge fans of chequer plating, so I thought I'd share this beauty with y'all!

Land Rover : LAND ROVER DEFENDER 110 TD5

WHAT a piece of ****. I like how the Pistonheads logo in the top right has a subline of "speed matters".

And the cock got all that **** from scrapiron racing (who are feeling the effects of this recession we are all hearing about) 8K? i think he has de-valued that TD5 a little more... dont you?

I cant understand why a land rover defender owner wants to make a brilliant vehicle look like a pile of crap ? personally i hate chequer plate stuck on landrovers it looks ****e and tacky. My defenders previous owner stuck chequer plate things on the wing tops and i hate them, i wish i had bought two new wing tops and got rid of the tat ! the defender in that pic looks garbage, they have ruined a perfectly good defender and for 8 grand i would expect something a lot better looking. gotta agree with griffdowg...

nowt wrong with the wing tops bein done, it stops them saggin' down with folk leanin' on thum... ah think ye call it 'farmers wings'

My n/s wing has a dent in it after some **** lent on it . Thinking about plateing wing tops but not sure . Should i do the bonnet aswell?

A bit of reinforcement on the wing tops is good if you like to stand on em like I do.

As someone else has pointed out before, plated wing tops make a good place to sit/ stand.

Personally I do think chequer plating is taken too far by some peeps.

I may have ribbed one who shall remain nameless for polishing his plating but at the end of the day does it really matter if anyone goes nuts and plates the whole vehicle if they're happy.
After all there are those that think were nuts for our vehicle choice in the first place.
( Till it snows, they get stuck in floods or see just how much fun we have )

not my way ! we aint had weather for some time now. we have had a lot of nothing and people here are wishing for some weather so they can get out in it. any one else had a lot of nothing just latley or is it only in normo ?
