sorry if I started a heated debate- I do pest control ( with a High Powered Rifle) and I though Olating the wing would give me something to sit on whilst shooting Fox

I woulldnt want to get banned for my 1st post :D :D :D

Les ;)

its ok - we is always like this :D.

I think its a case of - if yu have a valid reason for using it - ok - but if yu just want to have it fur "show" or to hide corrosion, then its a no-no.

To answer your question...buy the plate and cut it to size. Don't buy the chequer from ebay or B&Q etc as its a silly price...find a blacksmith and see if they have any cut-offs or can get hold of it.

Don't do what me mate did when I was out with him one night.
He was standing behind the open passenger door and resting the rifle on the open window ledge. Reynard came in very close and he forgot that the barrel was lower than the scope.
The 22/250 round went in through the wing top and out through the headlight!

scary stuff. when out doing the rounds in the evening on our estate, the other underkeeper had the .22 rifle loaded and pointing to the roof, loaded  i know it shouldnt have been but hey. anyway went over a bump and the rifle went off, right between our heads and blew a hole in the l200 roof:eek: scary stuff. anyway we fitted a roof mounted lamp so we didnt have to fix the hole lol

would really love getting back into hunting, used to have a 1022 ruger with a nice amount of stinger rounds that took out near anything!!

I use a 17 HMR for Rabbits and Foxes- thought the plating of the wings would be a good idea- fere sitting on- not so sure now looking at the response on this thread  don't want to be accused of being a "Bling Fairey" ;)

Les :D
