Chequer plate hate

I agree on a series and fender. It helps strengthen the wing tops, useful if you are stomping over them to tie stuff down on a roof rack.

I would quite like some on my Fender bonnet as that is a bit springy.

As for series, so long as the bonnet frame has not rotted than they are designed to carry wheels on them and usually have no problems being stomped on.

I did on my old 109 have some of that gripper tape accross the top of the windscreen to help when climbing onto the roofrack from the bonnet.

My 110 has factory fitted stuff down the sills which is a bugger to clean, and probably will lead to early Ali rot.

Personally not a fan of the standard silver chequer plate, but black painted plating only on the wing tops is a little more subtle and serves a purpose so im ok with that.

I like checker plate in certain areas but not to much of it and I think when my rear floor goes in the disco it will get some 3mm checker plate floor as its a commercial 2 seater anyway and my rear door card on the back door as I am using it in the forest it has saws axes cleans hammers wood allsorts inside and its starting to show a little bit but its a work horse it earns its diesel as far as series and fender it should only be used in functional places (wing tops and top of sliders for us short arses and pikey)

Bolted to the top of a roll cage, it makes a good substitute for a roof rack.

Brilliant for replacing the interior trim on a Disco rear door, if you want to bolt things to it (It's on my list. OKAY ??)

Turned upside down, it makes a good replacement for a Series front floor if you happen to have some lying around when you get carried away with the angle grinder

And

Nope

Can't think of anything else.

On the other hand, it's your motor.

Clean, seal, rivet. Remove and clean before resale or expect potential buyers to be very wary.

Don't rivet aluminium to steel though, that's just asking for trouble.

Well, I got a hole in the bonnet of my RRC so put tread plate on. Going to replace the bonnet one day.

Just wish I had carried it on a bit more to the front.
