Maybe he is? LOL

If you want something to stop you slipping, and I have thought about this on mine, this might work:

UK TAPES - the shop

Doesn't stop you from putting a huge dent in the centre of the bonnet when you stand on it though.

only reason you'd need chequer plate is if you have a roof rack and no ladder and need to climb on the bonnet to reach the roofrack. Any other reason is just excess weight on the bonnet and totally pointless.

whats wrong with climbing up on the back bumper and on the spare wheel i never need a ladder

Sorry to revive this old thread, but seemed better idea than starting a new one. Has anyone actually done this?

I'd be interested to hear whether it makes it easier to load the roofrack from the front, because unlike the defender, there's no bumper to step up onto the bonnet. Seems like it's more of a bling thing to me, but I'm sure somebody will know if they're any good?

Get rock sliders with built in tree sliders, they are like a nice big step which you can then reach your roofrack from...

had three of us stood on my bonnet while fitting and wiring the lightbar and cb arial, and not so much as a dent. just tek yer boots off and tread lightly ;)
