Is there anyone out there who has fitted their own rear window guard? and therefore knows what they are doing?

I bought one the other day from LR, thinking I could fit it myself ... all was going well until I realised I had to drill holes into metal...

So, in short, is there anyone nearish who maybe really enjoys fitting these? and would love to fit one..? :D

LR were going to charge £45 to fit it, but can't do it until Wednesday, and I would really like it on before then...

Don't mind driving to someone, and of course paying :)

depending on where you are in Surrey, I would have come and helped you do it. However, it is a nightmare of a job, the templates don't line up properly, and its really hard to get it 100% right. don't mind bolloxing my own car up, but when its someone elses...

£45 for LR to do it is a reasonable price, at least if the balls it up, they have to put it right at their cost. Took me about an hour to do mine, that included the fettling because the template was out of line.

Good Luck

Well its in, and it took them an hour, but for some reason, the £45 quoted rose to £88.. ouch!!

I have a labrador and a rottweiler, the lab would have fit through, but not the rottie, but she is very protective, so if left in the car with the window down, I didn't want people losing fingers if they tried to stroke her! ha

£88 sheets is a snip.I bought a box fr mine, cost £375 without delivery, but well worth it. Everytime they have a shake it catches it all leaving the cabin clean-lander.

Thanks, I did look at boxes, but couldn't find any big enough for my two. They spend a fair bit of time in the car at competions and training, so needed a bit more room.

Have you got the props on it yet?

No, not yet.. haven't had time to take it over there, but he has the prop there ready to be put on.

Its been off road already, and has coped fine with it, but want peace of mind, so it will be going on.. prob this weekend
