Sorry if this is a bit "high maintenance" of me but our Landy is being delivered shortly.

57 reg, 37k miles, XS model.

Probably sounds like utter madness to many but we've bought it blind from a main LR dealer in Croydon - been driven here then they are picking up our Jimny that we're p/xing. Worked a treat when we bought the BM (from Sytner Leicester) and p/xed our Astra.

Living in Cornwall with a business to run, we just don't have time to drive hours to see cars and choice down here is very limited and usually overpriced.

Anyway, while I'm pretty savvy on what to look for in "normal" cars, I've never bought a Defender.

Anything I should look out for in particular before we "accept" it? I'll do the usual checks but if anything is unique to this type of Defender, please shout loudly!!

Many thanks!

check difflock and hi/lo range,Steering pump by driving lock to lock.Check gearchanges arent sloppy. One of our pumas has ****ed the front diff after 1000 miles so check that and another has ****ed the turbo already. They are built ****e so check everythig twice.

I think those can have clutch issues so check it's all good there, no rattling or cluncks and it engages when it should without grinding or shuddering.

I'm from Truro too, what's your business you run?
