Hi guys

I'm looking to install a new door card on the tailgate (D2 MY04), including a drop-down shelf for cooking etc.

I've seen door cards and shelves as separate items, but I'd really like to minimize any mods or grinding (partly because I'm running out of time before we leave for an overseas trip, but mostly because I'm **** at that sort of thing).

So here's one that looks ready to go out-of-the-box:

Discovery 2 Shadow Safari DoorMate

Has anyone used one of these? The checkerplate looks a bit flimsy to me...

Thanks as always.

Hello mate, your probably right, it does look very flimsy. Also i noticed that how would it stay in the upright position as there doesn't seem to be any catches or the like.... And at that price it should be gold plated mate. I wouldn't use it, i would personally make my self a better one.

Hello mate not being funny you could make one better for qourter of the price that one in the pic is shocking ****

Umm. This looks like you get rid of a pretty useful door pocket on an original card for a flimsy drop down tray that everything will roll off. You also get a shiny bit of bling that most of the time nobody will see except your dog. I can't see the appeal.

Hi guys

I take your points that it's an expensive way to go - but I have no tools or facilities for metalworking. Living in London, I don't even have a garage. The prospect of cutting and finishing a big lump of checkerplate on the kitchen table is not appealing...

I should add that I am specifically looking for a solution that lets me use a gas cooker in the back of the car - getting rid of the existing card and pocket is the whole point.

I guess I could get something CNC'd locally. Does anyone have a DXF file for the door card..?

Thanks as always
