hi, please clarify,what might help,p38 1996 gems 4.6, key in position 2,check light on,position 3,engine cranks,check light stays on,sought of flashing when cranking,no start? it has p0335 code a circuit malfunction,has new ckps? is it still sync issue do you think,thanks for help.

Yeah, everyone chucks their keys into a bowl and then you dip your hand in and see whose Landy you're taking for a spin that night!
This is the Range Rover Forum, you put your hand in the bowl to decide which one you get to fix, its the showers afterwards where you need to keep your wits about you ;)
I no very little about the P38 but I am always happy to stick my oar in.

P0355 Ignition Coil E Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction - does that mean it is cylinder 5 ?

Do you get any immobiliser codes ?

I like Rye, there are some particularly pretty sheep down that way

Each coil fires two cylinders one on compression and one on exhaust alternately.
 
Clever stuff then, having never owned or worked on a P38 I'm probably not much use..
if that was faulty would it inhibit starting or would it start and misfire ?
