Avoid the eeepc 7 inch as they are dogs, I have a eeepc1001ha which is 3 years plus old and had massive use still on original battery, hard drive failed so it has 1 tb drive now

Thanks for that but even with google translate it still means nothing

Using an ancient Dell running XP and it kinda works ok apart from slowing down to a crawl when it gets warm after about an hour and any movement of the screen causes it to go into standby and then won't do anything until shut down and restarted

Skint again now until I get work to a stage payment so stuck with it for now.

Worst thing is it won't open the lzir map without freezing  Will just about run two tabs here and I can happily live without FB which gives it a fit.....but that I can understand :D

eeepc is a small pooter with not a lot going for it.try using google chrome on your pooter,is not as much processor hungry or memory needed to run it.;);)

BB - wot do yu want to use it for?

Not a lot, browsing, emails, be nice to be able to watch some of the vids folk put up here. Atm I have trouble opening pic heavy threads let alone magic moving pictures

Don't think changing the browsers going to help a lot. Can't imagine swapping chrome for firefox is going to make enough difference when I have to keep stopping typing and waiting for the words to appear :D

I installed it once before under Fannys guidance but didn't do it right, something about partitions that I know nothing about

I know there's loads of guides on how to do it but changing between tabs takes an age. I haven't quoted you because that saves about 2 mins

Think I need to turn it off of a while anyway cause it's really beginning to wind me up

Have you had Pikey clean the fan out ? I'd say blow back into the air 'out' side but you may inhale some 'mouse overcoat', thick fluff - not nice
