Freelander 2 (LR2) Charging Fault

Help needed!!! Pulling my hair out with this one.. starts off on the dash with Smart Key not detected then when I get it to start (sometimes it starts no problem) as I drive I get a series of fault’s coming up starting with charging fault, gearbox fault, engine temperature fault, etc…diagnostics showed alternator was faulty, alternator was changed and the same thing is still happening

How old is your battery on the car, is it in good condition and holding charge ok ?

I'm assuming it's a post 2012 facelift?
I'd be checking for damaged wiring first. Simply replacing the alternator without proper diagnosis isn't the way to go, as these vehicles are very complex. As above, when was the battery replaced if ever, if it's more than 4 years old, it's on borrowed time.
