Hi all.

The gearbox on my manual '98 DSE is gone. Thought it was just the clutch but with a new one fitted it still won't engage, so I'm thinking split main shaft. Also, it had a oil leak so was running pretty low
Game plan is to get a rebuilt box from Ashcroft, assuming there's no problems in shipping to/from Portugal.

But... I was thinking that I've always fancied an auto box. Is it possible/simple to replace a R380 with an auto box ? I know I'd have to go into Testbook to set it up and at least add the oil radiator. Any thoughts ? As anyone gone from manual to auto ?

Forget it. To many electricery problems. Not saying it could not be done but what a bloody task to take on.

When the two most respected and well informed forum users tell me to forget it, that's what I shall do!

Thanks for your input :)
