changing from edc pump to ordinary pump

any info would be much appreciated just changed engines in my disco 1 1996 the origonal was edc controlled by ecu the new engine has the mechanical pump have aquired live feed for solonoid from the edc pump wireing tried cranking engine but have no fuel at injectors the engine ran ok in the donor vehicle was wondering if my fuel pump in the fuel tank is also controlled by the ecu anyone done this transplant before.? All info greatly accepted thanks ALAN

changed it over live feed from ignition to solonoid on mechanical injector pump bleed the fuel system fired up straight away the only annoying thing is the check engine light which stays on all the time now (fuel pipes were on the wrong way round once changed engine fired immediatly)
