changeing the battery on a 52 plate disco

changed the battery on my 52 plate disco and the alarm keeps going off and it wont start. anyone have any idea why this is and how do i go about stopping it? any help would be much appreciated as i cant do anything with it at the moment

You have turned the alarm and immobiliser off with the key fob?

Was all working ok before you took the old batt off? And is the fob locking unlocking car . And is the new batt fully charged cuz this could give you problems with the alarm to
