i got a 93 disco in the yard that i used to have before and my disco at he moment is a 97 and the front axle is not great in it if the 93 would fit it would be a cheep fit for it as i use it mainly for offroading of a sunday

In what way 'no'?

I suspect that the brake calipers will need swapping (possible discs as well) and the front radius arms may well also be of a different width. Otherwise should work.

Not sure why this is being done as the 93 axle is 10 spline and probably have an awfully slack diff in it :)

So not a straight swap then  Microcat lists completely different part numbers for early & late series 1 discos. That's not to say it won't fit, but it'll need checking and measuring to make sure everything important is in the right place and of the right size.
