As you may have seen from previous post...It just stopped....My mechanic mananged to solve the issue of the damm thing stopping by replacing the seals BUT on a test run he pulled up at a set of lights and the 'cow' revved her head off, practically red lining for about 15 to 20 seconds, blowing smoke all over the A6 then it stopped.

She is an automatic so it was impossible to stall her. Then he drove her home no problem. The trouble is now she is smoking like a barbecue..... I have been told to drive her round until the oil burns off, but to wait till its windy or when the roads are empty as the amount of smoke causes a road block!!!

What do you think the chances are of her not having knackered the engine??? :(

If it's a diesel it should be ok, as long as it didn't go beyond the red line....
Would have thought a mechanic would have tried to clear the oil out of the turbo and pipework before installing new seals though...

Sadly we didnt think to check the oil before the work started, we did the seals because it was driving and then stopping for no reason :(
