Hi , the central locking on my 2000 4.6l vogue has stopped working as far as opening the car. It locks the car using either button on the fob. I did have a dash message saying my fob battery was getting low...is that the problem? I'll get a battery tomorrow and try it. If it's not that, is there a way of resetting the locking.

You will need two 2025 .

Mine has just done this at the week-end, never an issue before..
It was ignoring the remote (because she wanted to stay out longer)! And this morning I locked her with the key and the hazards responded... I tried the remote and we were all friends again...

Thought using the key to lock and the remote to unlock can cause problems Mark.

Thats the procedure when isolating the vehicles alarm interior movement sensor, is it not ?
no idea and no idea, I've got three keys in total and they all unlock and start the bugger.... As long as you lock and unlock with the key and not lock with the key and unlock with the remote. It's completely one or the other for both operations. Tis my understanding or experience :D

Agreed mate it's when you mix and match that problems occur I believe.

Nothing in my manual about isolating the volumetric sensor.

Ok, finally got out and bought 2 new 2025 batteries, put them in and....nothing! No red light on the fob, no locking or opening.
What I'd like to ask is, does anyone on here do replacements, where I can send my old fob away to and receive a nice new one in return?
To be honest, the old fob is knackered and I'd like to have 2 new ones. Any recommendations hugely appreciated.

If the old fob can be fixed then @MrSporty on here is your man. Otherwise it is off to the Stealers, bite the strap and bend over.

I take it you put them in the correct way round + to the bottom and the battery carrier has the o ring fitted and is in the correct orientation for the metal contact

Checked and I had the batteries in right way round but hadn't turned the carrier to make the contact. Having rectified that, red lights and signs of life, woo hoo. Unfortunately. my problem with the central locking remains the same, locks with the fob but wont open. Back to square one I suppose.

Does the red ligh illuminate when the unlock button is pressed?

That sounds like one of the microswitches on the bottom of the lock actuator.

I don't know how or why, but its decided to start working again! I've ordered a cheap new fob and I'll change the internals over, and change the micro switches while I'm at it. Thank you all for your help and advice, it's much appreciated.

Stick the key in the door and turn the key to the left and simultaneously press Lock then rinse and repeat for the unlock turn the key to the right and press the unlock button

That shock re-sync the key to the car..

Mine did the same thing.
