Hello. My central locking has stopped workers by on the fob. Locks try to move but then stop. Central locking stopped working on key a while ago. There's a clicking under glove box when latch on diversified lifted. Took the actuator on drivers door apart. Spins one way when fob pressed but only moves slightly other way. Car is a 300 auto nap import with a Selca alarm and fob which operates central locking. Any ideas chees

Hi. Measure the voltage on the motor's feed both ways and if it drops much that's the reason, if something is sticking or the motor doesnt spin free in one of the actuators the voltage across the whole CDL circuit drops and that affects all the actuators, eventually unplug them one by one and lock/unlock with the dash switch after each disconnection to see which one is causing the drop if that's the case

Thanks. I've unplugged each motor individually still the same. There's no lock unlock on dash board and central locking does not work off the key or by operating latch inside car.

So did you get a voltage drop which made you to unplug the motors? ...cos that was the condition for that test, at least that was what i was trying to say

Just confirm that this:
Car is a 300 auto nap import with a Selca alarm and fob which operates central locking....
means that the central locking is some retrofitted thing not from factory?....cos then the systems diagram is needed

Yes car is a jap import 300 tri auto. Alarm is a Selca with one button on fob. Pushing fob arms/disarms alarm and imobiliser and central locking. When ignition is turned off only imobiliser is armed. Button has to be pressed with key in ignition for imobilser to be disarmed.

I think your on your own fault finding on a non- standard security system, Disco 1s exported to Japan weren’t fitted by Land Rover with a factory fitted security.

Factory fitted central locking is controlled from an ECU if using a remote or contacts within the master drivers door actuator when using a key, don’t worry about the slaves in the other doors, as for voltage drop, the actuator motors pulse as you can see when operated, if the don’t nothing happens while the remainder will still operate. So first port of call is the master to check its operation as is no different in 3rd party retro fitted kit.

On Jap specs unlike the ROW all the motors are in parallel so a voltage drop caused by one motor would affect all... i've troubleshooted myself one long time ago and that was the problem hence my first reply.... so i've had my own experience with this
A and B are going to next page where the tailgate motor is shown i dont paste that too

so if on your's is still the factory fitted system and no voltage drop caused by a motor which you ruled out then the control unit is suspect

Ok thanks. I will have another look today. When the latch is operated on drivers door there's a clicking from under glove box. Is there any common problems with control unit? Is it next to window control box? Cheers
