This morning could for the love of it open the back door, pressed the central locking a few times and you can hear the lock functioning.... then went looking for the rear door release....

Disco 2 hasnt got one, not that I could find, so I ended up clamering over the rear seats and opening the door by the handle..

Then notice what the little plastic lock thing wasnt up when every other door one was....

So is this a locking mechanisum issue .. fuse issue or just a loose wire....

Help Im stuck

Thanks Paul

I'll pop off the door cover tomorrow evening and have a butchers.....see if it is the spring, rod arm or weather it needs a spray of the good old WD40

Doors works fine when I pop it open from inside and once the car is unlocked every thing works fine...even when I lock the car via the remote... the only issue is the unlock and the plastic clip not popping up

Anyway if I need a new spring and some trim clips , gives me an idea what I need to order into complete the repair at the weekend

Stripped the back end down, what a pig of a job... well it still dont work, other than the lever from the inside...

Cannot understand why it wont work, maybe should just order the the spring and clips and see if it comes together

Sounds like the door handle has stuck up on the outside. Spray some WD40 at each end and try to " waggle " the handle to free it up.
It happens on mine quite often.

No door works when unlocked - open it and close it fine , can lock the vehicle fine, its just when I come to open it, the door just wont unlock..... cant see how its the spring as others have mentioned.. maybe me being stupid

The verdit is in

Door locked cannot be repaired ..... Even though it still have some fuction left in and the spring isnt replaceable.

Just a good job the guy who I got the truck from is sending me a replacement

This is exactly what happened to me today. Went home, took the oval badge off, pushed handle back in, sprayed WD40 to free off, then sprayed silicon lube for lubrication, took card off, sprayed around. SORTED, thanks for the great info! :):):)

I had this problem with the door lock, continued to use it and just keep unlocking it from the inside, this was fine untill it totaly packed up then i had to gut the door wile it was locked (really not easy) then fiddle a way to unlock it to remove and replace the lock, so be carefull you dont end up with it stuck locked like me!!!
